2025 Knights of Columbus Lenten Fish Fry

Proceeds go to support MiraVia  and Davie Pregnancy Center

My dear Parish Family,
     The theme of this year’s Diocesan Support Appeal is   “Reflecting God’s Light,” which invites the us to join Bishop Martin in opening ourselves up to the Holy Spirit, to reflect Christ’s love, and to demonstrate their discipleship during this year as Pilgrims of Hope.
     I am deeply appreciative of your love and support for the people of our parish family and our community.  The work of the Diocesan Support Appeal– supporting the agencies within our diocese and the great work they’re doing throughout our diocese– continues to grow, as does the need for support.
     The total goal for the 2025 DSA is $6,991,221, which represents an increase of 3.5% or $236,418 over 2024, spread across all of our churches. Compared to the prior calendar year, through Dec. 2024, weekly average parish offertories are up 5.1% in total.
     The 2025 DSA goal for our parish, noted below, was calculated using our parish offertory during the last calendar year.  

(St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church- Target: $25,241 )

     The DSA provides funding for the following ministries of the diocese: Education, Campus Ministry, Faith Formation, Youth Ministry, Multicultural, the Eucharistic Congress, Family Life Office, Catholic Charities, and Vocations. To help defray operating costs, these ministries plan to generate  $3.2 million in revenue, along with more than $700,000 in funding from endowments in the Foundation.
     I am grateful for the past support you have given to the DSA here in our parish family. I have already made my pledge to this year’s DSA (a copy can be seen on the bulletin board) and hope you will all join me in  making a pledge.  Together we can continue that support as we strive to meet the ever-increasing needs of people across our diocese through the diligent work of our agencies and ministries – which change lives every day.    May God Bless You all!   Father Eric

     El tema de la Campaña de Apoyo Diocesano de este año es “Reflejando la Luz de Dios”, que nos invita a unirnos al Obispo Martin para abrirnos al Espíritu Santo, reflejar el amor de Cristo y demostrar su discipulado durante este año como Peregrinos de la Esperanza.
     Aprecio profundamente su amor y apoyo a la gente de nuestra familia parroquial y nuestra comunidad.  El trabajo de la Campaña de Apoyo Diocesano (apoyando a las agencias dentro de nuestra diócesis y el gran trabajo que están haciendo en toda nuestra diócesis) continúa creciendo, al igual que la necesidad de apoyo.
     La meta total para el DSA 2025 es $6,991,221, lo que representa un aumento del 3.5% o $236,418 con respecto a 2024, distribuido en todas nuestras iglesias. En comparación con el año calendario anterior, hasta diciembre de 2024, el promedio semanal de ofertorios parroquiales aumentó un 5,1% en total.
     La meta de DSA para 2025 para nuestra parroquia, que se indica a continuación, se calculó utilizando nuestro ofertorio parroquial durante el último año calendario.

     La DSA proporciona fondos para los siguientes ministerios de la diócesis: Educación, Ministerio Universitario, Formación en la Fe, Ministerio Juvenil, Multicultural, Congreso Eucarístico, Oficina de Vida Familiar, Caridades Católicas y Vocaciones. Para ayudar a sufragar los costos operativos, estos ministerios planean generar 3,2 millones de dólares en ingresos, junto con más de 700.000 dólares en financiación de donaciones de la Fundación.
     Estoy agradecido por el apoyo pasado que le han brindado a DSA aquí en nuestra familia parroquial. Ya hice mi promesa al DSA de este año (puede verse una copia en el tablón de anuncios) y espero que todos se unan a mí para hacer una promesa.  Juntos podemos continuar ese apoyo mientras nos esforzamos por satisfacer las necesidades cada vez mayores de las personas en toda nuestra diócesis a través del trabajo diligente de nuestras agencias y ministerios, que cambian vidas todos los días.

Pope Francis has declared through his papal bull "Spes Non Confundit" ("Hope does not disappoint" {Romans 5:5] that a Holy Year be engaged by the faithful as is the custom in the Church every 25 years.  A jubilee has ancient roots in the Hebrew tradition and was revived in the Church in the 13th century as a special time for reconciliation and conversion.  The Diocese of Charlotte is excited to offer ways in which the faithful in western North Carolina can participate in this special moment.
